It is important to not change the rules of the endangered species act because those rules were made to safe guard at risk species and ensure that any decisions made about destroying any animal habitats have been fully examined, as these decisions have ramifications for all life on earth. Read more

This bill is a disgrace - we need to protect our environment and work with it. These animals don’t have a voice of their own so I’m here to say it for them - this needs to be stopped. Read more

Your bill is going to destroy ecosystems. Without consultation with experts, you are giving developers the green light to bypass environmental safeguards just to get something done ASAP. Humans are an integral part of the ecosystem too and their role should be as caretakers , not destroyers.

Abhorrent is a government that would gut environmental policy and further marginalize First Nations in a province where so much is possible without causing irreparable damage. You were elected to do your best, this sir, is not it.

I oppose Bill 5. It guts protections, ignores science, and tramples Indigenous rights. Who's to say because they are registered right away they aren't going to destroy a habitat and claim it was never there as they are now moving too quickly. Read more

I appreciate the government trying to speed up the process of building homes, however, it should not be at the expense of other species and bypass a permit when the damage will already be done.

This policy change is just going to allow developers and investors to start large projects, do irreversible damage, and not clean up after themselves. You’re reducing protections on many species that are already in a decline. Read more

Doug Ford’s “Protect Ontario” bill is like calling arson a home renovation. He’s gutting the Endangered Species Act so his developer cronies can pave ecosystems without even checking if anything lives there — then call it growth. Read more

This is nothing more than single track minded, bulldozing of the future of this province. Make decisions people want, not decisions you've been paid off to make. Anybody associated with this proposed legislative change needs to take a long look in the mirror.
