This bill must be stopped. Creating SEZs will harm Ontarians in the long run by allowing foreign investors to financially benefit from reduced taxes and reduced regulations, meanwhile small and local businesses outside the SEZs are held to a jigger standard of regulation and permitting.

The over-ride of municipal planning in the interest of developers will eventually cause the downloading of development costs onto existing land owners. Municipalities need to have complete control over their own developments to allow them to keep property taxes under control.
