What part of “endangered species” is this government unable to understand? Habitat loss is one of the key factors that is killing off all manner of flora and fauna in this province at an ever increasing rate. The Piping Plover is a bird that has a limited breeding and nesting area. Read more

Selling part of Wasaga Beach is a bad idea. As if tourists were not going to the beach now and have been for decades. Read more

I believe that the divestment of part of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is yet another attempt to download provincial responsibilities onto the municipalities. They are already stretched thin with other things that were downloaded by the province. Read more

I am strongly opposed to selling ANY land that belongs to Ontario Provincial Parks for development. These places are protected for a reason. They are crucial for preserving a natural environment and many vulnerable and endangered species. Read more

You actually believe boosting tourism and driving economic growth will contribute to protecting the area's natural environment? Nah, it will destroy it. Human behaviour has proven that for millenniums. You need not look far to see this happening to "natural areas" everywhere. Read more

Leave our parks alone. We need the green space for wildlife and birds. Many species of birds and wildlife bred in our parks and their habitats should be left alone, free of pavement and buildings. Read more

I oppose this proposal because marine birds like plovers are already facing habitat loss and stress from human activities. Expanding tourism in Wasaga Beach would only harm these birds and the ecosystems that depend on their presence.

We should be creating more provincial parks, not removing land from provincial parks. We don't need more condos and hotels to make the developers and Doug Ford richer. Have we learned nothing from the green space scandal? Read more

Stop selling public land like Wasaga Beach Provincial Park for development! That land includes critical nesting habitat for the Piping Plover, which could be lost forever if this proposal goes through.

I do not support the proposed amendments to the PPCRA and HPA as outlined in the ERO. Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is a world-renowned tourist destination and best-known as the largest public beach on the Great Lakes. Read more

You MUST NOT privatize a public beach and asset. The beach needs to be taken care of, protected and preserved for future generations. This protection is not just for the humans for recreation and relief from these scorching summers but for wildlife as well. Read more

This government is known for its' abuse of any environmental protections. It is unbelievable that removing areas from a relatively small provincial park is necessary for tourism enhancement - especially a small island home to an endangered species. Read more

Whilst I do believe it is important to support local communities such as that of Wasaga Beach, I do have some concerns as to the proposed changes to the Provincial Park in that area. Read more

No foreign investments into public land! We did not vote for this. You do not have a mandate to mortgage our public lands.

I am totally against this change indicated by the proposal to amend provincial park status at Wasaga. No lands should be sold off or go under a management that does not seek to preserve the wildlife and nature that is already protected. Read more
