I am against this proposal. While it is understandable that the municipality wants to expand its economic growth, this could be accomplished without transferring ownership. Wasaga Beach hosted nearly 2 million visitors in 2023, so I do not think the transference is necessary to meet tourism goals. Read more

I spent the first 10 years of my life living in Wasaga Beach and have worked in the town for 5 years on top of that. In that time I have had the opportunity to experience the unique nature of the town and the amazing natural features it has to offer. Read more

I am against the transferring the control of Nancy Island from the MECP to the MTCG. I would like to see the park remain in conservation. I can only assume transferring the island will allow for its development into god knows what development scheme. Read more

As someone who was partially raised in Wasaga Beach and still holds many ties and memories to its town and beaches, I must firmly appose the proposed land transfer to the city. Read more

As an Ontarian who frequents these beaches, I want them here for all generations to come to be able to enjoy. The habitat for the animals is dwindling, the publicly available water front for recreation is dwindling. Do not advance this any further.

I am writing to state my opposition to the Ontario government’s plan to strip provincial park protection from key parts of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, and to sell much of this land for “integration into the broader development of Destination Wasaga”. Read more

Living in the area, I feel it would be such a shame to sell the beaches to developers. We are not Toronto and we need to preserve the small town charm and history. The beaches should be accessible to everyone. Taking away those beaches for you to make more money is absurd. Read more
