I do NOT support regulatory amendments which will reduce the number of species protected by Law. Stop it. The Land doesn't belong to you, the government, the Crown... WE belong to the Land. It is not your resource to destroy and profit from. Land belongs to ALL OF US. STOP IT.

It’s time to consider what we preserve as nature. Our habitats and those who live on and feed off them. Winged or with legs, fur or feathers, the Ontario government has no mandate to endanger our wildlife through legislation that works against them. Read more

We should not be prioritizing the interests of developers over the health and diversity of our environment. There will be no socioeconomic growth that is meaningless in the context of a depleted and imbalanced earth.

I am vehemently opposed to amendments for the Species Conservation Act 2025. I don't think we should jeopardize our wild life for the sake of profit. Shame on our current government to reduce protections of our environment and animals.

It is totally unacceptable and morally bankrupt to put this proposal through. Species at risk are important and we should not be removing protections for them under the guise of "better development", which I'm guessing just means more money lining the pockets of already-rich developers.

I strongly oppose these changes, and stripping endangered species of their protections to line the pockets of private businesses. Repeal Bill 5 and protect one of our most important resources and spaces. Protect and preserve Ontario's natural beauty and habitats, or get voted out.

Destroying the habitats of not only 100 but 106 endangered or species at risk is awful! You will be damaging the populations, and ecosystem by building on locations that are under protection by your government. Stop building and start actually protecting.

Every species you eradicate upsets the balance of nature. Without protecting our wildlife and their habitats you are condemning future generations to the consequences of destroying nature. Our future is bleak with the damage your government is doing to our enviroment. Read more

I do not support this bill, by stripping these species of provincial protections we leave them more vulnerable and this bill will almost certainly result in less protections for these species that we need to be protecting most. Read more

I oppose the proposed Species Conservation Act (Bill 5) due to its drastic weakening of species-at-risk protections in Ontario: 1. Removes essential habitat and species protection The Act narrows “habitat” to only a species’ immediate nest or den, eliminating broader ecosystem safeguards. Read more

It’s disheartening and frustrating to hear that the Ontario government is washing its hands of responsibility to protect the endangered animals that call it its home. Canadians are seem at the forefront of environmental protection and caring for our lands and its animals. Please don’t go backwards!
