Endangered species and species at risk need habitat that extends past the nest: foraging in surrounding areas are essential to survival of fledglings and nest protection does not mean anything if there is disturbance right beside this area. Read more

As an Ontario resident I am extremely opposed to the removal of the Ontario Endangered Species Act. If passed, this new law will gut protections for over 100 at-risk species, silence the public’s voice, and hand developers a free pass to destroy critical habitat. Read more

The Ford government continually demonstrates its desire to fast-track building for its developer pals at the expense of our environment and vital natural habitats. We saw it before with the greenbelt and we see it again here with an attempt to degrade the endangered species act. HANDS OFF, FORDO!

This bill is preposterous. I oppose all of the loss of species protections. Our first responsibility is always to protect nature, our home and the species that we share it with. This bill undermines that. Please, Repeal Bill 5. Restore protections for Nature.

Removing species from the Engangered Specoes List and reclassifying them without sufficient evidence of population stabilization is not acceptable. Where are the studies indicating that's appropriate? Habitat in Ontario is shrinking, not growing with urban expansion and industry. Read more

I do not support this proposal. Rather than significantly weakening protections for species at risk, this government should be safeguarding biodiversity, respecting Indigenous rights and ensuring local communities benefit from the ecosystem services that nature freely provides. Read more

Repeal Bill 5! Bill 5 allows a willful destruction of natural habitat, and the certain removal of over100 species nearing extinction. This will forever change our natural environments in ways we have yet to realize. Repeal Bill 5 and protect our water, land and species! It is our mandate. Read more

It is not in Canada’s best interest to go forward with this. For Canada, and the world’s future. The majority is Canadians are not on board. Do what Canadians want, do it for Canada, not for greed.
