This act endangers 106 species of animals, setting a precedent for the future that any species vulnerable to the effects of development can be neglected. This amendment would compromise our biodiversity. Take Sydenham River for example.

I strongly oppose the plan to remove 103 species from the endangered species list. The ones listed are still actively endangered. Removing them increases the risk for the species to become extinct.
These new amendments are a brash attack on our biodiversity, and the possibility of maintaining healthy ecology in this province. Delisting federally listed species is insane: you know that those protections only apply on federal land, of which there is very little.

Repeal bill 5 and stop this nonsense of removing our environmental protections. Taking care to do things thoughtfully is important. It is our duty to protect the living beings of this land.

Please don’t allow this to happen. The world is already a terrible place why make it worse for animals that don’t have a voice to speak for themselves.

Endangered species and species at risk need habitat that extends past the nest: foraging in surrounding areas are essential to survival of fledglings and nest protection does not mean anything if there is disturbance right beside this area.
