I am in despair over how this government is systematically removing or reducing the environmental protections that we desperately need. This is one more step to taking the teeth out of Conservation Authorities' ability to protect local habitats. The current system work well -- please leave it alone!

I do not want Ford's government any where near Ontario's conservation authorities. Their track record is anti environment and pro land development at any cost. Obviously they will no longer have my voter support.

I am writing in opposition to the proposed amalgamation of multiple conservation authorities in Ontario. Although I understand the need for financial responsibility in all areas of government, changes should not be made which hinder the work of the affected departments. Read more

Leave the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority its own entity. We are a unique in our location and the region it serves. Quit trying to tramp on the environment. Amalgamating from our region serving 10 municipalities to 72 makes no sense. Read more

I oppose the idea to consolidate conservation authorities because I am concerned that it will cause weakening oversight, especially in the Windsor-Essex region as we are often overlooked, and prioritizes private and commercial interests over long-term ecological stewardship and public safety. Conservation areas form a core part of many individuals' relationships with nature. The fact that they are closely linked to local municipalities and focused on specific areas' needs means that these conservation areas can serve not only the public, but also nature with specificity and care.
