This is wrong and needs to be stopped. This goes against the the original concept of the Conservation Authorities. They were formed for the purpose of watershed and flood management and their boundaries are aligned with specific drainage areas of the majour rivers. Read more

I do not support the Ontario Government's proposal to regionally consolidate Ontario's Conservation Authorities. In my opinion this in nothing more then another move by the current conservative government to remove more systems that are in place to protect nature and support biodiversity. Read more

I understand the basic proposal and the intent of amlagamating the 36 current districts into 7 new ones. In principle, if local service levels can be maintained, and duplication is reduced, in theory, there can be cost savings which is a very good thing. Read more

I believe the Lakehead regional conservation authority needs to remain standalone in Northwestern Ontario due to the unique conditions that exist in the north and how far away it is from the next closest conservation authority.

I agree with the HCA's submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our local community. I will be speaking to our local politicians as well . Read more

I am a member of the Hamilton Conservation Authority and regularly use conservation lands, in Hamilton and in other Authorities' jurisdiction, year round. I also live on the border of the greenbelt and support the aims of conservation more broadly, not only as recreational areas. Read more

I do not support an amalgamation of regional conservation authorities. For a number of years I worked for the Grand River Conservation Authority. I then changed course in my education & received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Read more

I do not support the proposal to merge smaller conservation areas into larger ones. I stand with the submission of my local conservation area, the Hamilton Conservation Authority. I have seen firsthand the work they do, and I am proud to be living in the HCA catchment. Read more

Losing individual conservative authorities will result in losing many programmes they provide such as ; tree planting days, availability for property owners to order and plant more trees, and the free tree programmes they provide. Read more

The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority represents a unique location within Ontario. As a rural location with many indigenous neighbours this region needs to keep its northern voice and not be lost within a primarily Southern Ontario consolidated group.
