I strongly agree with the basis of Hamilton CA’s objection to the plan. There is no justification for "consolidating" Conservation Authorities as proposed, unless it is to weaken the effectiveness of each of the existing CAs. Read more

As a northern resident, I dont see how combining my local conservation authority with others 10+ hours away would increase my quality of life or the effectiveness of said conservation authority. Why would sensitive watershed management ever be amalgamated to such a grand scale? Read more

I agree with Hamilton Conservation Authority’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. I also do not see the benefit of a merger, when gaps can be meaningful addressed in other ways.

I would like to also include my unwavering support for the recreational opportunities at a conservation areas so important, particularly in our urban environment. Which are often very specific to the community which day are situated therefore, top down approaches may not apply. Read more
