Cancelling the Cap and Trade Agreement without a plan to combat climate change is a terrible idea. No other ideas in the current PC platform will matter if towns full of people who voted for you are continuously destroyed by storms, flood damage and high winds. Buck a beer won't matter. Read more

I am very disappointed with my Ontario Government actions in not protecting the earth. It is my understanding that Cap and Trade at least penalized corporations that are polluters and without proposing a better plan the government is trying to end this action. Read more

As a citizen of Ontario, I firmly believe that the government of this province ought to prioritize a climate plan that is consistent with the Paris climate agreement targets. Climate denial and inaction have enormous costs for our economy, our health, and our environment. Read more

I thoroughly disagree with cancelling the cap and trade policy in response to climate change. It took years of consultation to reach this decision and allows for Ontario to fall under the Federal government requirement of a climate change plan. Read more

Instead of just canceling cap and trade, show us some of your ideas for its replacement. Is it true, as rumoured, that your government has banned the use of the term "climate change" in the provincial bureaucracy? If so, how retrogressive and wrong-headed and just plain stupid - SHAME!

I am writing to express my strong objection to this proposed legislation. Time and time again it has been demonstrated that industries are irresponsive to adjusting their practices in order to reduce greenhouse emissions, barring a financial interest compelling them to do so. Read more

I strongly oppose Bill 4, the Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018. This is for many reasons. First and foremost is that climate change presents a huge economic and social risk to Canada and many other nations, and we in Ontario must do our part. Read more

The proposal is ill-considered. Climate change is a serious and growing threat to global ecosystems and economies. It is important that every jurisdiction take action to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in order to lessen the impacts of climate change. Read more

I urge the Conservative government of Ontario to rescind its decision to end the current cap and trade program. Surely members of the party realize that refusing to address urgent policies to stop climate change will only harm future members of their own families. Read more

What the government has put forward in this bill is completely unacceptable, given that they have proposed no other mechanism for carbon pricing. If they acknowledge the reality of climate change, how can they justify proceeding with no plan for reducing carbon emissions? Read more

I believe opting out of the existing Cap and Trade Agreement is a costly mistake for Ontario. I think a national approach with all of the Provinces signing on is the way to go. The mechanism is already in place. It makes no sense for Ontario to spend the time developing a new plan. Read more
