I think its crazy that the cap and trade program is being cancelled. I would gladly pay more for gas knowing that the extra money is going to help the environment. I also think its reckless and irresponsible that now companies who pollute the environment can do so with know reparations. Read more

I am deeply disappointed that the Ontario government plans to cancel cap and trade. In the wake of the release of Monday's UN report on climate change, I find it incredibly irresponsible and short-sighted to cancel a program that could decrease greenhouse gases. Read more

For the sake of our children and future generations we must stand together and prevent such an abhorrent hit on the environment. Climate change is not only real, it's happening in the most dire ways possible. Change needs to happen, quickly. Read more

I strongly oppose the cancellation of the Cap and Trade Act. Given the most recent report by the IPCC issued yesterday, it is imperative that governments do everything possible to reduce green house gas emissions. Even if this means there will be a higher cost to the average citizen. Read more

I believe that Bill 4 is a huge step backwards for the Province of Ontario. While many parts of the world are looking forward to more sustainable business and operations, Ontario is looking to taking the easiest route, which is to turn a blind eye on our environment. Read more

- climate change is occurring; we are witnessing weather and environmental changes that can only be attributed to climate change. It is our obligation for this and future generations to mitigate its effects and undertake adaptation actions as rapidly as possible Read more

I am appalled that a responsible government would repeal an act for voters’ financial self interest without having a replacement ready to address climate change. There are three ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions - incentives, penalties and regulation. Read more

I am upset to see the cancellation of cap and trade. We need to price in the environmental cost of our everyday activities. A carbon tax is a good way (or as good a way as we know) of doing this and I feel would have a positive impact on the economy if we spend the proceeds intelligently. Read more

The Cap and Trade act was showing results. It was a step towards a greener more ecological future. I hope I speak on behalf of the inhabitants of this planet who have been affected by climate change when I ask why? A clear problem haunting future generations. Why do people choose to ignore. It is absurd for a province and country that cherishes it's natural resources and its green spaces so much to cancel an act that only works to create a more liveable environment for everyone. The economy is not what is going to save us when climate change starts causing greater natural disasters. Read more

As a citizen of Canada, who has lived and worked within the city of Toronto, I would like to give my support to measures which: Legally bind emissions targets in line with our obligations to the Paris Climate Agreement. I want Ontario to be 100% powered by clean energy by 2050 Read more

This bill represents an abdication of responsibility in protecting the people of Ontario. By all scientific measures, temperature on the earth is increasing and carbon release does not help that. Even if you believe humans were not initially responsible, we could avoid making things worse. Read more
