I support The drive clean program, as I believe it keeps older polluting passenger vehicles off the road. Although it does take additional time out of my day to get this certification, it is a small price to pay to ensure other motorist are keeping up with proper maintenance of their vehicles.
Please keep the Drive Clean test for light and heavy duty vehicles. It encourages people to drive more fuel efficient/electric vehicles, helping to protect the environment. The fact that fail scores have decreased only shows the program’s effectiveness. Thanks.
Why not immediately? What is this winding down? The public has not paid for this for awhile and when that happened it was immediately. You are wasting taxpayers money by waiting until April 2019. Sending me a form email to my original email makes me see you are evading my original question.

In general, this makes sense. However, what if a light duty vehicle is old and is polluting alot. That is a problem. That problem must be addressed so we reduce rather than increase the fossil fuels going into the air we breathe.
I am concerned with the idea of repealing drive clean for light vehicles. I do not want to make driving inaccessible/too expensive but a single poorly tuned car can and does cause terrible air pollution that impacts the health of everyone around.

A step in the wrong direction. In addition to ensuring that the millions of cars on Ontario roads are meeting emissions standards and not harming the environment, it sends the right message to all Ontario residents that we're all part of protecting the environment.

The consensus from the general public is that the program has run its course and is no longer needed. Having worked with the Drive clean program since its inception, I know that is not true. The program has changed and evolved but many of the issues still have not been addressed.

The Drive Clean Test should not be cancelled for Light duty vehicles because it is for the consumers' protection on resale cars.
If a car has an error code it can be cleared by the seller (or mechanic) and the buyer would not know there is a problem.

When DriveClean used the dynamometer/tailpipe system for testing, vehicle owners rarely knew before the test whether their vehicle would pass or not. Statistics regarding pass/fail results held some weight with this testing procedure.
