The water resources in Ontario need to be protected and preserved for the use of our citizens. Selling it off to the highest bidder is tantamount to a crime and should NOT be permitted under any circumstances.
Studies are showing aquifers are increasingly stressed due to use, increased temperatures and reduced rainfall. If climate predictions are true the situation will only worsen.

I believe water should not be bottled and for sale when we have such good clean tap water in most municipalities in Ontario. The profits of bottled water sales are going to businesses yet the water belongs to all.

Water is a major public good. The science on the impacts of massive extraction of our natural water reservoirs is not well understood. We do not know how long nature will take to replenish the water taken by bottling companies.

Extending the moratorium on water bottling permits is essential to enabling sufficient research to take place so that effective decision making can occur. The increased rates to date are still insufficient to cover the true environmental costs of taking groundwater for commercial consumption.
Safe drinking water is becoming a problem around the world. For millions fresh water is not a human right because water supplies are becoming depleted. Why does Canada think that our water resources are unlimited? In my opinion water should never be for sale to anyone.

It is of critical importance that we protect Ontario's collective irreplaceable and finite water resources now and for future generations as water constitutes a "Natural Capital "asset that is a collective asset upon which the natural world, and we the people are all dependant upon for life.

The bottlers permits should be reduced and they could contribute to the province, people and country by building water treatment plants to use and process grey water for their requirements instead of using the groundwater which is a public resource

Bottled water is an unnecessary, expensive and unregulated commercial convenience, NOT an antidote to municipally treated water. Its disposable plastic containers are a major non-biodegradable feature of landfill and marine water sites.
