I drive a classic automobile to Show and Shines and help raise funds for JumpStaart etc. and use small engines, i.e., lawnmower, weedeater, rototiller, snowblower and chainsaw to maintain my property. This change to the amount in ethanol in gas could potentially destroy my car and equipment. Read more

Ethanol enhanced fuel, even at the current 10%, is bad for some types of engines. Engines for things like generators, chainsaws, lawnmowers, weed eaters, ATVs, snowmobiles, off-road motorcycles and outboard motors burn out if they use fuels containing ethanol for extended periods of time. There is a lot less energy in a litre of ethanol then in a litre of gasoline. So by increasing the ethanol content in gasoline it stands to reason that you will need more fuel to go the same distance. Burning more fuel will most certainly increase amounts of air pollution. Read more

900,000 plus Say NO!! This proposal for an increase in ethanol to 15% is a huge mistake and will cost tens of thousands of dollars to both collector car owners as well as collector vehicle businesses. The collector car hobby in Canada is well in excess of 450,000 documented owners. Read more

The idea of increasing the ethanol content is not good! It will decrease our fuel economy resulting in us drivers paying more at the pumps than we already are by having to refuel sooner! It is shown in Brazil that fuel economy is terrible with ethanol based fuels. Read more

RE: Increasing ethanol content in gasoline. The science still says that it takes more energy to produce ethanol than what we get out of it. So there is little or no benefit to the environment. I am thoroughly against an increase in ethanol content. Read more

I’m not in favour of this as most older vehicles are not designed to run on this stuff. It will require a separate pump to dispense it. Only with strict requirements to keep it separate from regular fuel, will this work. I believe that motorcycles and outboard motors will be a risk with this fuel. Read more

Increasing ethanol or similar content in fuels up to 15% by 2025 is a truly dumb idea from someone who is still living in the past. Gasoline is already commonly available with plenty of ethanol content. By 2025, many more electric vehicles, (cars, suvs, and delivery vans) will be on the road. Read more
