By moving towards a modern digital service, Ontario would be eliminating the administrative burden of processing over 450,000 paper documents for the hazardous waste program. This would support businesses by making it easier to submit all program reports electronically, saving time and money.

As a Toronto business, we already have three levels of waste reporting, federal, provincial, and municipal. Like CRA collects taxes on behalf of provinces and the feds in one remittance, can you unify and harmonize your reporting with the other two levels of government? Read more

I agree the HWIN program needs updating as I currently have a excel spreadsheet to keep track of my over 50 login names to access all U of T registered sites. It is most inconvenient and can take up to 5 hours to login, confirm, pay and logout for all fees associated with our sites. Read more

My only concern, as a small business owner, is what additional costs will we now incur in relation to these proposed changes? If they company is now setting their own fees, will we see a huge jump in the costs? Small business cannot afford higher fees.

Hello, It sounds interesting to go digital. it'd be nice though if we could also have the identification of wastes treatments right away. According to our wastes codes for ex. It will allow us to see our metrics and follow up on our trend. Thank you Sylvia

Missing a lot of details here. Main concern is this read like you're putting responsibility across all waste management sectors to become responsible. Really? You trust private sector? You'd be the sole one to do so. Missing information on costs. Read more

It is about time the HWIN system was electronic, too much paper waste, the only problem I can see is the system has to be very user friendly, as some of the new government websites are not especially for small businesses.
