I am against extending the SSS for SPM for Stelco as proposed. The MECP should impose a much lower limit. Stelco has had this same limit for 10 years and this limit is almost twice as high as that for ArcelorMittal Dofasco.

I’m concerned about the proposed extension of Site Specific Standards regarding Stelco. I am concerned that the public input deadline is too close to the expiry of current site specific standards (SSSs), especially for Suspended Particulate Matter.

The publics heath needs to be put before industry. They will of course always ask to have a more easily achievable standard bu the public expect the government to enforce these standards.
