Schedule 3 will allow Minister's Zoning Orders (MZOs) to override legal and policy protections for farmland and natural heritage features and areas across Ontario.

I am writing to express my significant concerns about the proposed changes to Bill 257 (Supporting Broadband and Infrastructure Expansion Act, 2021). As a resident of Ontario I am demanding that Schedule 3 be removed from Bill 257.

I am so so deeply disappointed in the provincial government that continues to strip away any power our environmental legislation once held in this province. Making these changes to allow for MZO's to be completely immune to any regulation from the Planning Act is a terrible idea.

The fundamental problem with MZOs not having to be consistent with the PPS is that those portions of that document which relate to Indigenous Treaty Rights flow directly from Section 35 of the Constitution Act.

This deceptive abomination erases decades of environmental, social, and indigenous rights progress. Perhaps next the Ford government could amend legislation to allow child labour again as well to appease businesses?

The flippant disregard for the PPS is autocratic and removes all accountability from the government who's purpose is to make decisions based on its constituents.

Where is the accountability for our government without the PPS? At the polls, every four years? I want responsible, accountable government decisions, not a free-for-all.

I strongly oppose the Schedule 3 changes proposed to our Planning Act. This Planning Act is policy for good reason and should not be able to be sidestepped when convenient. This attempt at strengthening the recently and frequently abused Ministerial Zoning Order (MZO) power is disheartening.

It seems highly inappropriate and not in the best interest of Ontario's people to provide a loophole for the Province to bypass key guidance and requirements put in place by the PPS.

I strongly oppose the Schedule 3 changes proposed to our Planning Act. This Planning Act is policy for good reason and should not simply be sidestepped when convenient. This attempt at strengthening the recently and frequently abused Ministerial Zoning Order (MZO) power is 2 steps backwards.

Please remove schedule 3 from bill 257. This is a dangerous and negative schedule forthe health of communities and health of the enviroment. The changes would provide that any existing Minister’s zoning orders, never had to be consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement.

As a concerned Ontarian who has seen first hand how the current Ford administration has blatantly ignored the wishes of Ontarians, local governments, conservation authorities, etc. I cannot support this proposal.
