From my understanding Miller Group has not been playing by the rules and seems to have been ignoring them to a great deal. It is time for the MNRF to enforce the applicable rules and not grant any changes of use to this property.

Millar has a terrible track record of following policy. What makes you think this time is different? Why is the MNRF releasing responsibility and putting the decision making on Uxbridge? This reminds me of the handling of the Greenbank Airport mismanagement.

Neither the province nor the township should approve the proposal from Miller Paving. As a local resident, we live with noise, dust, increased traffic and undoubtedly additional pollution from the existing operations.

Return this pit to it’s original form. We do not harmful waste to be deposited causing harm to water system & general environment. It has been used for its purpose now return it to its natural form!!
I object to Miller’s applications. First, for years Miller has not only broken the rules by developing a contractor’s yard but have refused to comply with the Ministry’s request to remove it. More importantly, I believe it is critical that lands within the Oak Ridges Moraine be protected.

The proposed large (10,000 sq. ft.) building and large equipment storage yard for the Miller Boyington Pit #3 are completely out of character with current zoning and land use on the lands surrounding the subject property.

In response to questions regarding the anticipated heavy increased truck traffic from those vehicles hauling fill to the Miller Boyington Pit #3, members of Uxbridge Council suggested that a solution might be to widen the road from the Goodwood Road to the pit entrance to allow for the creation of a

I strongly believe that there is no benefit for the people of Uxbridge. There is not clear study or report to mitigate the impact on the local environment.
Worked out gravel pits should not be regarded as potential revenue sources by their operators/license holders, particularly when they are located on protected lands.

I am a concerned resident of Uxbridge that doesn’t want Miller paving to be able to bring more trucks and fill into our beautiful area. I believe that by approving this, it opens up the possibility for more companies to change the terms that they have with the township and the MNRF.

A review of the license under which the removal of material from the Miller Boyingtom Pit #3 is permitted indicates that a contractor’s yard was never authorized within the terms of the original license.

As a resident in the area, 5 minute drive away, I advocate for this site to be returned to natural state. The water quality in the area is important as folks in the area are on well water and would not want any industrial activity to endanger that.
The five main access routes into the Uxbridge town centre are (Concession 7/Main Street South from the south, Bloomington/Toronto Street from the west, Durham 8/Brock Street West from the west, Durham 1/Main Street North from the north, and Durham 47/Brock Street East to the east.

Concerns regarding the Miller Paving application:
* the environmental impact would negatively affect generations
* it sets a precedent for other aggregate companies
* it affects the health and safety of the community as a result of the increased transportation of unknown fill

I am a local resident and am extremely disappointed and concerned with the possible amendment to the the Miller Boyington Pit #3. This will, in no way, result in any positive outcomes for the Town of Uxbridge or the people who live close to this area.

Historically, much of the excess soil excavated from construction sites in the City of Toronto and adjacent areas has been deposited into the lake along the shoreline of Lake Ontario to create new areas for development and new parkland sites.

Over the past twenty odd years, removal of aggregate from the Miller Boyington Pit #3 has been relatively limited with the exception of the past couple of years.

I am writing to express my serious concerns over the proposed site plan amendment put forward in regards to the Miller Boyington Pit #3. Please do not grant Miller’s application to move 36 hectares of land from MNFR oversight to become the responsibility of the Township of Uxbridge.

The Township Application requests for continued use of a non-permitted contractor’s yard, removal of the asphalt plant from MNRF oversight, a new 40,000 sq ft industrial building, and importing 1 million cubic meters of fill.

Based on the terms of the Oak ridges Moraine Plan and Act, MNRF must reject the subject application outright and enforce the terms of license.
