I would think just by making water/wastewater employees "essential workers" you could avoid much of this proposal. Fire/ EMS/Police all have a responsibility to the public. Water /Wastewater owners/employees have responsibilities not only to the public but also greatly to the environment.

as a multiple licensed skilled tradesman with a Level 1 Waste Water operator license employed in a level 4 waste treatment plant , I support the classification of my job as an Essential Service, therefor exempt from lockouts and union strikes beyond rule to work .

I would object to having unlicensed operators running facilities. More than 50percent of all operators are currently OIT’s. Sad the Goverment overlooks their responsibility to supply trained certified staff. Water and wastewater treatment is critical to public health. Time to change! Read more
