I’m opposed to bill 23. The Greenbelt is a protected space and should remain protected. I firmly believe it would be not only wrong to destroy the land, but extremely detrimental to the wildlife that inhabit that space.
Throughout all the Ontario governments proposals to tragically withdraw existing lands from the world renowned Greenbelt Plan, it seems there is no reference to the effects of the Climate Crisis that is well underway.

There is MORE than enough space to build housing without touching the #Greenbelt. This will do nothing to alleviate the housing crisis, but will dismantle environmental and food supply protections only to benefit developers.

I am very concerned about the plan to remove portions of the Greenbelt from the Greenbelt Plan in the GTA, and to replace them with additions of areas in the vicinity of Erin without apparent consideration of conservation science.

I am absolutely opposed to Bill 23 and the proposed changes to the Greenbelt. Doug Ford promised to not touch the Greenbelt numerous times. He needs to stand by his words. The Greenbelt is protected lands for a reason- we don't need development in this ecologically important land.

I am highly disappointed that the government is amending the Greenbelt plan to remove protections on existing lands. The government previously committed to not swapping or adding additional Greenbelt lands in exchange for removing existing lands.

Please don’t destroy the green belt. We need more wetland and green spaces to combat climate change and manage severe weather/water events. Building on the green belt will not accomplish enough benefit to justify the damage to the surrounding areas.

The Greenbelt is an important part of Ontario's ecological system. Please protect the land.
This rapid urban sprawl is fiscally irresponsible. We need to densify and build up, not outwards.
This Bill is going to set Conservation efforts back decades and cause irreparable harm to ecologically important areas. Homes can be built elsewhere, and I am extremely disappointed that this government is taking such a shortsighted view of the environment.

As an Ontario resident, I am concerned about the proposed amendments to the Greenbelt Plan. I urge the Provincial Government to halt these proposed amendments for the following reasons:
-Land swaps defeat the purpose and is not the intended vision of the Greenbelt Act of 2005.
