This is a huge mistake that will have terrible repercussions. We need to protect our green spaces. The highway that will be built is already set to destroy too much land, kill off wildlife. Please do not let this be approved.
I am completely appalled at this proposal and strongly oppose it in any form. The Greenbelt needs to be preserved and should not be used in any way for residential or other development. Doug Ford promised not to touch the greenbelt and this government needs to stick with that promise.

I am against this proposal. There is no clear plan on how to mitigate urban sprawl, which will become exacerbated with this plan. There is already enough land within developed areas to build mid-rise condos.

Why is this open for discussion again? Save the greenbelt. Build affordable housing elsewhere. Include affordable housing in existing, in progress and yet to be approved condo development.
I am deeply concerned about the loss of conservation authority powers resulting from this bill. I don’t believe any conservation lands should ever be sold for development, they are needed as habitat and for flood prevention. Therefore no new process for selling off Conservation Lands is needed.

I am very disappointed with the decision to completely ignore the voices of the people of Hamilton that voted AGAINST URBAN SPRAWL. This is a violation of our democracy. I’m ashamed of our premier.
That plan proposed by the government to develop in the green belt should not be pursued. The governments plan to add new green space to offset the loss of existing green space should not be pursued.

The majority of Ontarians want to preserve the green belt! Please continue to protect it & instead use these funds to repurpose empty office spaces & other vacant buildings in Toronto & surrounding area into the low income housing we do desperately need

In the midst of Ontario’s housing crisis this proposal does nothing but put money in the hands of land developers. Single family homes in areas with no infrastructure does nothing to support accessible low income housing, the real source of the housing crisis.
