This proposal will not solve the housing crisis. The houses that will be built will be multi million dollar homes that no one can afford. At the very least add a stipulation that these MUST be very affordable housing. This will just exacerbate the housing crisis and add to food insecurity.

I strongly oppose the proposed removals from the Greenbelt for many reasons: 1. It is not necessary as there is plenty of space within existing municipal boundaries to accommodate population growth, if it is intensified and proper transit is built. Read more

This is NOT the way to proceed. More sprawl means more carbon pollution and expensive suburbs like Markham. Instead, partner with social housing groups to build non-market and affordable homes. Also, work with municipalities to increase densification. Thank you!

The Greenbelt and the Escarpment need more protections, not less. We all need more green spaces, not less. There is room for housing without bulldozing green spaces. We need stricter zoning and bylaws that enforce building density and limit sprawl. Read more

It's disheartening (and frustrating) the shortsightedness of the provincial housing plan. This is not the best approach - it's the approach of a backdoor business deal(s) that impacts a very select few with deep pockets and provides homes for families (also with deep pockets). Read more

I'm all for protecting more land around Paris/Galt but not subtracting from anywhere else. What water shed is left isn't enough. We should be ADDING watershed to cope with increased population, not less. Cities have lots of room to build up. Especially Hamilton. Read more
