-While I understand that the minimum is exceeded, More should be added in compensation for the areas removed. It really should be more then double.

The Markham Village Conservancy has partnered with the City of Markham since 1996, advocating and protecting the rich heritage of Markham Village.
Bill 23 is a very real threat to work that we have been doing for over 21 years.

I am opposed to the opening up of greenbelt land for development. It will do nothing to make housing more affordable and will take land that feeds us out of production. There is plenty of land for development already slated for that purpose. Build upwards not outwards.

Has the government looked at all other options, similar to how a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment is conducted, and determined that the proposed is the least destructive on the environment? I would argue that this has not been completed, and at a bare minimum, should be.
