RE ERO 019-6216 - Greenbelt
Do not remove any parcels of land from the Greenbelt. Premier Ford has repeatedly and explicitly promised not to touch the Greenbelt. He must stand by his promise to the people of Ontario. Please rescind the amendment to the Greenbelt Plan.
I’m writing to you today in support of the Greenbelt, Conservation Authorities and Ontario’s wetlands, woodlands and other natural areas.

I understand the desperate need for Ontario to increase housing supply and address the current housing crisis. As someone in my late 20s, the prospect of being able to purchase property or even afford my rent is incredibly daunting.

I do not support this proposed plan. Protecting the Greenbelt is of utmost importance, and we cannot afford to give any Greenbelt land to housing developers or construction - especially given the global state of climate catastrophe we are in. Do not pass this proposal into law. Thank you.
Dreadful idea that will negatively impact future generations. Destruction of habitat for at-risk species, erasure of clean water sources, and putting families in harms way by developing flood plains should never be allowed.

This is a bad idea. Please leave the Greenbelt as is. Developers have plenty of other space to build on, closer to amenities/transit. This feels wrong.
Removing any conservation lands in this day in age is absolutely unacceptable! This is merely a politician's excuse for addressing the housing crisis. We can not ignore that there is also a global environmental crisis!

There should be a Federal or separate unbiased committee investigation into the collaboration between the premier of Ontario and developers who bought Ontario’s protected Greenbelt prior to the provincial election of 2018.

I am writing this to let you know that I am appalled by Bill 23. Wetlands will be destroyed, precious creatures will be gone and won't come back. Let's build up, not out, please, and not in areas that are so crucial to so many living things, including humans.

It is an outrage that Doug Ford thinks that opening up the Greenbelt to development is a viable solution to solving the housing problem. He was not elected to do this. In fact, part of what he ran on was a promise to NOT open up the Greenbelt.

When given the choice between preserving the Greenbelt or handing a huge Christmas present to developers, the choice should be clear. We have a finite supply of good farmland, and paving it over threatens our food security.
