This proposal is a step backwards in addressing the climate emergency. Greenspaces are the greatest gift we can provide our descendants. Once you have given it away, you cannot get it back. It is gone forever. A horrible legacy for a conservative government! Read more

Flooding is the worst natural disaster in Canada and can happen anywhere and anytime. In my riding of Northumberland Peterborough South we have had damaging flooding of our creeks and along Lake Ontario from spring snow melt, rain and howling wind and waves off Lake Ontario. Read more

I am disgusted by Ford’s proposal to build on Greenbelt land. The value of connected green space, especially wetlands, cannot be overstated. And how did developers buy land that was in protected greenspace? I am extremely angry with Ford and his henchmen. He cannot be trusted. Read more

I am completely against this proposal. As a young family with three young children I worry about the state of our environment. I worry about their futur. We need to do everything possible to protect our green belt. I truly hope this proposal will not be approved.

The Greenbelt was created to preserve environmentally sensitive land and exceptional farmland. The environment preserves habitat to wildlife, is a source of pristine fresh water used by Ontario’s population and is used for recreation used by the people of Ontario. Read more

Please keep your promise and protect the green belt. This is important land that we can never restore. As climate change worsens, Ontario needs to do its part in lessening it’s impacts. We do not need commuter suburbs where folks are reliant on cars. Read more

Please do not do this. It will affect my family that lives in markham a lot. Not only is it bad for the environment it will raise our property taxes. I am against this policy and I hope the Ontario government does not pass it. It doesn't make sense what they have proposed. Read more

It is absolutely frustrating beyond words that after Doug Ford and his government promised to protect the GreenBelt that he is now choosing to go back on his promises all so his builder friends can profit off selling homes to more rich folks. Read more

The Ford Government has made several prominent policy mistakes. This is yet another one. This is not good for the environment and it just looks bad. The Premier should take take his own advice - admit that he is wrong about developing the Greenbelt. Read more

Illogical and poor for the environment. It is a disservice to this province to build on such rich and lush fertile land. The issue is not we need more houses it is that the houses being built aren’t affordable and are being taken by foreign buyers BECAUSE AVERAGE CANADIANS CANNOT BUY THEM. Read more

I am strongly opposed to this plan to develop on out precious green belt. It really does not appear to benefit anyone except the developers and the people who bought land along the green belt hoping to make a profit when Ford opened it up to development. Read more
