I believe that the 1.5 million new immigrants anticipated to arrive in Ontario over the next 10 years need rental housing in existing urban areas serviced by public transit. This housing does not need any Greenbelt land and must not be built on Greenbelt land.

While there is a need for new housing in Ontario, it should not be on the Greenbelt. There are towns throughout the province that would benefit from increased growth that are far from environmentally sensitive areas.

Please do not develop the Greenbelt. This development is not beneficial to the people of Ontario or future generations. This proposal is only beneficial to large businesses and the Premiere.
Please protect the land.
Pushing the belt further is not the answer. Eventually we will run out farmable land.
Ontario Canada must be self sustaining. To do this we need good healthy farmland
Revoke this legislation. Apart from its flagrant ethics breaches, it is destructive to a crucial resource that belongs to all Ontarians, it is environmentally idiotic, and it will not make the slightest impact on solving the province’s dire housing problem.

Ontario’s Greenbelt is a natural workhorse that filters our drinking water, purifies our air, grows our food, and provides habitat for endangered and threatened species. Close to millions of people in the GTHA, the Greenbelt is a place people rely on for mental wellbeing and physical heath.
