I believe there are other areas and methods (dense housing like condos & apartments instead of simple horizontal expansion) that can and should receive the focus of housing development that must be prioritized before considering touching the greenbelt. Read more

Please do not pave the Greenbelt with suburban housing. Instead allow for denser European floor style housing apartments (3/4 bedroom) on major arteries throughout the GTA. Suburban sprawl sucks. Large apartment style homes inside of existing city boundaries rock.

Under no circumstances should this be allowed to happen. This is completely ridiculous and simply another ploy to funnel more money to corporations. The PC government PROMISED in 2021 not to touch the green belt and yet somehow here we are. Start developing north of the GTA. Read more

As a potential future ontarian it concerns me greatly that the province doesn't seem to be caring for the environment around your biggest population center. Keeping wetlands balanced is an important part of sustainable development, and is only becoming more important as climates change. Read more

This is a stupid, shortsighted and slimy move. We will never get this land back if we open it to development. The world is being ravaged by the effects of climate change and more concrete and pavement is not the answer - especially not in our most valuable platform. Read more

The Greenbelt is for protection of species of wildlife and plants. It’s a huge contributor to helping with carbon emissions created by nearby infrastructure. Many wetlands contribute to water quality and volumes. Water doesn’t magically appear in your pipes it’s source is aquifers underground. Read more

This will destroy the ability to grow food for future generations, increase flooding in the gta, ruin wetlands which are known for biodiversity. This is truly so dangerous. The whole point of having the green belt protected is for this exact reason. Read more

Maintain the greenbelt! The plan to develop the greenbelt must not move forward. More than ever conserving the delicate balance of nature and out local wetlands is of utmost imoritance. The golden horseshoe could be a global model for housing and conservation if we chose to be. Read more
