I'm pleading as a mother of three children that you do not develop the greenbelt protected land for the sake of their future. Children don't have the voices for political forces to hear but please do your diligence in protecting these green spaces. BUILD UP not out. Read more

The greenbelt should be protected at all costs, especially in the face of a climate emergency. The greenbelt also prevents urban sprawl and protects Ontarians’ access to local food, clean drinking water and natural areas. Read more

According to the Report of the Ontario Housing Affordability Task Force, land is available, both inside the existing built-up areas and on undeveloped land outside greenbelts. The report goes on to state that greenbelts and other environmentally sensitive areas MUST BE PROTECTED. Read more

There is nothing in this proposal that ensures affordable housing is being built and there is plenty of room across the developed lands in this province to increase housing sufficiently through infilling, building low rise apartment buildings, duplexes and quadplexes. Read more

The studies have been done - the Greenbelt doesn't NEED this expansion to accommodate new housing. This policy, like all of this conservative government's policies, only serves to benefit Premier Gourd and a select group of his political misfits. Read more

The Oak Ridges Moraine protected lands need to be retained to save our environment and fight climate change. We should be working on creating affordable housing for newcomers in areas already designated as residential and not catering to the developers who stand to make money from this. Read more
