I do not support this proposal. Recreational waterways should continue to be accessible by everyone. Banning anchorages within 300 feet of private property is essentially giving exclusive entitlement to land owners when waterways are public domain.

Should this bill pass, we as long time Georgian Bay boaters and the hundreds of other boaters will have no where, when all we have is the weekend, to drop anchor. Most boaters are respectful of cottages and private property. The few that ruin it for others are just that, a few.

I am completely baffled by the government is considering this legislation. If there is a problem with shipping containers becoming vessels, deal with the problem. As a boater and visitor to many anchorages in Georgian Bay, we would be completely cut off from many of the spots we love.

I object to this change as it will prohibit many in the sailing/powerboating community from enjoying Georgian Bay.
Not only will this close off anchorages it will move traffic to other parts of the Bay.
This is now becoming ridiculous. Firstly let’s address grey water. There are more cottages that have septic issues and probably don’t use Ocean friendly products than boats. Most marinas now sell mostly if not all envirofriendly products and hence most of us use them.

I strongly agree that this should be passed. With having any boat docked close to a cottage or property, I feel there needs to be a good distance. It first is a hazard because we have had people come onto our island and even start bonfires. This is hazardous.

I am a sailboat owner and I am against any restrictions on anchoring, whether distance or time based. If the concern is people abusing the system, the solution isn't to create uncertainty with boaters, it's to fix the issue more clearly preventing the specific circumstance you want to avoid.
