We are vehemently opposed to this proposal. This is an unjustifiable amount of water to be removing and will profoundly affect the water-table in our area. 3,934,600 litres per day!! For 10 years!! Absolutely not a sustainable practice. Read more

As a citizen of melrose, this proposal is extremely concerning. The Thought that a company will be able to remove water from the earth 24 hours a day, 365 days a year is troubling. The environmental ramifications of this project could be vast. Read more

We have been involved in land development and home building for the past 40 years in this immediate area to the quarry. We are seriously concerned about the depth of this quarry drawing down the water levels. This area already struggles to have adequate household water supplies. Read more

Is this related to expansion of the 401 highway? There needs to be transparency re why this is a Category 3 permit, whereas some of the individuals involved are stating it is just for the removal of pooled rain water. How is that handled now, then? Why is a new permit required? Read more

As long time residents of Tyendinaga Township, we know the need for a safe, reliable source of water. Along with daily household cleaning, personal hygiene, and of course drinking, it is needed to water the garden that provides food for our family. Read more
