Proposal 1. If a group is unsuccessfully in primary allocation and is relying on the second stage its members might apply to different areas or the same WMU. Only 1 tag is required for a small group to make a hunt trip possible. Read more

Please do not give out more moose tags. Moose do not need more people hunting them. They are already in decline and have very slow reproduction rates. Trophy hunters want moose with the biggest antlers, which removes the breeding males. Read more

What should happen is do not remove the hunters points if tag is not claimed. Put the unclaimed tags up for sale in August that were not claimed in the second chance draw. Which would allow for more hunters hunting. Read more

Perhaps tags for new hunters? If all reports are completed a moose tag allocation or unclaimed tag may be awarded. This would help encoutnew hunters and avoid as many unclaimed tags. It would also promote new hunters following the guidelines.

I used to hunt all the time when the kids were young. They now are old enough to hunt on there own but we started in the points system but dont really understand it. I know several hunters who just say the hell with it, and don't hunt anymore. Read more

As a northern person living at the corner of three WMU. I believe that the change is nessesary so that local hunters have a chance to hunt. First Nation's aren't the only people that rely on moose meat to make ends meet. Read more

No fairness in the current system as is and/or with any proposed changes. Since it's implementation this is another year of unsuccessful results for our party of 6. This system has taken away opportunities for individuals, pairs and small groups. Read more

I think it's a great idea,if your applying in the second draw means you were not successful in the first draw and you really want the second chance to participate in a hunt,so by not claiming your awarded tag you should loose all your points...and only allow 30 days to claim tag after being awarded Read more

I would like to see some special consideration for people that choose to hunt in groups have a better chance of getting tags or at least offer points as a group for tags. Something to consider perhaps.

I support this initiative. I am not an Ontario resident but will be moving there in the summer of 2025. Anything that gets more tags in the hands of hunters who want to hunt is a positive step in my opinion. Read more

I think having a short second chance tag claim process, then have a final 3rd draw where if you apply and receive a tag you loose your points regardless if you claim or not. I also think it should be a minimum of 4 applicants per adult tag. Read more

To Whom it may concern. I am a 4th generation moose hunter in Ontario, and my sons are now 5th generation. We use our time in the hunting camp for more than just hunting. It's stories and history and staying connected in a meaningful way that is very unique for those who do go hunting. Read more
