This is the worst amendment I've ever seen, it can't go through. It'll obviously be used to destroy our precious environment if the government has the power to remove species from the list. This is just another abuse of power.
I am writing to oppose Bill 5. This sweeping and dangerous piece of legislation will gut long-standing environmental protections, particularly through the proposed replacement of the Endangered Species Act with the so-called Species Conservation Act.

I oppose Bill 5. I want strong environmental protections, with emphasis on ALL endangered species. I oppose short cuts for industry without public oversight. I oppose overwriting of law in special economic zones. Canada/Ontario is not for sale
Bill 05 is set to hurt salmon routes in my area which could endanger their whole livelihood. It is also a misuse of provincial power by attacking endangered species. Please do not pass this bill.
This change to legislation that has been developed over decades is to occur after a 30 day comment period. The poorly planned changes are obvious in the poor logic in the technical document itself and the numerous and varied groups that oppose these changes. This is not progress of any kind.
The proposed Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act contains provisions to hand over a frightening amount of power to Premier Doug Ford and his cabinet without any debate or discussion in the legislature.
