The new Species Conservation Act would strip away real protections for at-risk species and their habitats. Science and recovery planning are being replaced by an empty process that can’t protect our wildlife.

This proposal would be devastating for the environment and endangered species. It would also be a devastating attack on Indigenous rights. I oppose Bill 5, and I believe the government needs to listen to Canada's Indigenous peoples on this matter. Protect the environment.

Our Indigenous land is not for sale, nor should we (non-Indigenous Canadians) control what happens to ecosystems within Indigenous land! Our native species are already struggling with the climate crisis, this should not be passed!
I think we humans forget that we live on Earth - not above it. The environment is our home, and we share it with countless other species. It’s not just a backdrop for development or a resource to exploit.
