I am extremely concerned by the replacement of the Endangered Species Act. Politicians and bureaucrats should not replace scientists in deciding which plants and animals should be protected. This bill also abolishes obligations for the government to create recovery strategies and report on them. Read more

These changes do not support a viable future for our Province. The protections for Species at Risk and their habitats established under the Endangered Species Act (2007) were introduced to prevent developers from destroying sensitive habitats and harming our Province’s most vulnerable species. I think this is utterly pathetic for Doug Ford to make such an inhumane decision. Doug Ford has already caused enough damage by taking mental health funding and removing the rent cap. Read more
