ERO #025-1257 I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I have been a member of the HCA for many years and feel that they do an amazing job of conservation because they understand local needs best. We need to continue to keep conservation decisions rooted in our community! Read more

I am against merging conservation lands. My Hamilton Conservation Authority works great, is responsive and pro-active in conservation, features easily lost in mergers. Please do not merge conservation authorities!

I disagree with this proposal and this the government is overstepping as a power grab. Local leadership is important and this reeks of opportunism on the part of the province to weaken protections and provide wealth to their friends. Passing these changes equates corruption.

These mergers need to stop. It would not benefit those that use the conservation areas to have such a large conservation authority. Each area has its own unique situations , such as the deer hunt in November in Dundas Valley. The HCA is well run and a responsible authority.

I do not support this merger. The Hamilton Conservation Authority already functions efficiently and is heavily involved in local efforts. I am a local resident with an annual membership with the conservation authority. Read more

I support the HCA in their stance that the conservation authorities should not be merged - the HCA does a fantastic job managing Hamilton's conservation sites and I think we need to keep our decision making local.

I would like to disagree with the proposed combining of conservation districts. I feel there needs to be a lot more thought and organizing to do before any changes are made. The changes are way too extreme. I’m concerned that the areas are are way too large and local connections will be lost. Read more

I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. The HCA does a remarkable job on its own, and this merger will water down its ability to oversee local issues considerably!

This proposal is extremely dangerous to the health and well being of the conservation areas that each region is responsible for. Each region is a professional in knowing how to best preserve, protect and maintain the conservation areas. Read more
