The ministry has amended existing ECA #3583-6JDSWX issued to Magna International Inc., operating as Karmax Heavy Stamping at 331 , 333, and 365 Market Drive in the Town of Milton, Regional Municipality of Halton, Ontario.

The Ministry is issuing a Minister’s Order to Algoma Ferrous Industries Inc., under subsection 147(1) of the Mining Act, to file a closure plan to rehabilitate mine hazards at the MacLeod Mine site. The result would be the receipt of a closure plan for the rehabilitation of mine hazards, including associated financial assurance.

The Ministry issued an Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) for Brazeau Sanitation Inc. for a hauled sewage waste disposal site. The ECA is for the storage tank of residential hauled sewage, located in the Municipality of The Nation, Ontario.

The application was withdrawn by the proponent. No approval was issued.

The Director of Exploration has made a decision on the exploration permit application PR-21-000218 to Signature Exploration Ltd. for early exploration activities.

The decision is to issue the mineral exploration permit.

Bill 139 received Royal Assent on December 4, 2023. Schedule 14 amends the Ontario Heritage Act (OHA) to change application requirements, timing and approvals for alteration requests to minimize interruption of religious practice at buildings used primarily for religious practices where all applicable conditions are met. 

This approval is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (mobile) for Mianco Group Inc., for a portable wood grinding operation in the Province of Ontario.

This approval is for the operation of a portable wood grinder and ancillary equipment.

An amended Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) with Limited Operational Flexibility was issued to TransAlta (SC) Inc. as general partner for and on behalf of TransAlta (SC) L.P., a facility that produces electricity and steam at high and intermediate pressures located in the City of Sarnia.

We have made changes to the recreational size limits for walleye in Lake of the Woods in order to address risks to the quality of the fishery.

The Ministry of Transportation has decided to no longer proceed with the following proposed e-bike amendments. At this time, the Ministry is proposing to create regulation making authority under the Highway Traffic Act to allow for e-bikes to be categorized into distinct classes with specific operator and vehicle safety requirements.

We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval to Hickory Terraces Ltd. for stormwater management works serving a multi-storey residential development with associated parking, amenity areas, and landscape buffers located at 535 Quiet Place, Waterloo, Ontario.

We issued an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility which replaced all current Environmental Compliance Approvals for air contaminant emission sources at this facility, including the addition of new, or historically unapproved, sources for all air emissions from Millwick Waste Recycling Inc..

A decision was made on May 13, 2024 to approve Haldimand County Official Plan Amendment 69, as adopted by By-law 1320-HC/22. The approved Haldimand Official Plan Amendment 69 proposes amendments across a number of policy themes/sections, including natural heritage, affordable housing, and mineral aggregates, as well as mapping changes.

We issued an amendment to GFL Environmental Inc. for the operation of a waste processing facility, located at 75 Ardelt Place in Kitchener, Ontario.

We issued an amendment to Titan Tool & Die Limited, for the operation of an automotive stamping, welding and assembly facility, located at 2801 Howard Avenue in Windsor, Ontario.

The application for an Environmental Compliance has been requested by the client/consultant to be withdrawn as the works will be covered under the Prince Edward County's CLI ECA.

An Environmental Compliance Approval has been granted to Johns Manville Canada Inc., a manufacturer of polyisocyanurate roof insulation and residential sheathing, located at 3330 Marleau Avenue in Cornwall, Ontario.

The decision is to issue the mineral exploration permit.

The amendment to the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act (PTHIA) to prohibit Ontario from introducing any new tolling of provincially owned and/or operated highways, as part of the proposed Bill, 162, Get it Done Act, 2024, recently passed Third Reading in the legislature. As a result, this amendment will be implemented.
