We have approved the renewal of Permit to Take Water No. 8433-BHLQAN for Glencore Canada Corporation for industrial purposes in Kenora, Ontario.

A new Permit to Take Water No. 6752-BGKM8U was issued on January 23, 2020 to Fernbrook Homes (Lawrence) Limited for a perimeter drainage system located at 1780 Lawrence Avenue West, Toronto. The permit expires on January 22, 2030.

The ministry issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval to EWL Management Ltd. for sewage works serving the borrow source and quarry area located in the Werner Lake area, Kenora District, Ontario.

An amended approval has been issued to YMCA of Greater Toronto for sewage works for treatment of domestic sewage from YMCA Camp Cedar Glen, located on 13300 Concession Road 11, Schomberg, Township of King, York, Ontario.

This decision is to refuse the amendment to Permit to Take Water No. 6834-BVBRSJ for Pure Gold Mining Inc. for industrial purposes. Water was requested to be taken from one pond to support underground mining operations at the Puregold Mine, located in Madsen, Ontario.

We have not approved the amendment of Permit to Take Water No. 6376-89CNDF for golf irrigation purposes. The application was returned to the proponent on February 10, 2019 because it was incomplete. No Permit was issued.

Approval was granted for a site plan amendment to allow Lafarge Canada Inc., in the Township of Zorra to operate the mobile processing plans in the Central Block of the site 24 hours per day, 7days per week. The approval authorizes several revisions to the Operational Site Plan to reflect the updated technical recommendations for noise.

The ministry has issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval to Crane Lake Discovery Camp for the construction of three new onsite septic systems for the youth camp, in addition to the two existing septic systems, located at 200 South Crane Lake Road in the Municipality of the Archipelago, Ontario.

Permit to Take Water No. P-300-5384918522 has been issued to MANITOULIN TROUT FARMS INC., for aquaculture purposes. Water will be taken from four wells, located in Coldwater, Ontario.

We decided to amend the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998, to require the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to exempt a person (i.e., project proponent) from leave to construct requirements if the OEB is satisfied that the circumstances prescribed by regulations have been met.

We have issued Permit to Take Water No. 6568-CVVKYZ on October 16, 2023 for St. Marys Cement Inc. (Canada) in the Municipality of Brighton, Ontario for industrial purposes (aggregate washing). The new permit expires on June 10, 2026.

A decision was made on October 10, 2025 to approve the City of Burlington Official Plan Amendment 2, as adopted by By-law No. 45-2024, with modifications. The approved Official Plan Amendment 2 amends the text and schedules of the existing Burlington Official Plan 2020 to direct future development within three Protected Major Transit Station Areas.

The ministry sought feedback on any planning matters that should be addressed through a transition regulation, under the Planning Act for the Provincial Planning Statement (PPS 2024). The Minister reviewed the feedback and decided no matters required transition for PPS 2024 and will not be prescribing any matters by regulation.

The Green Energy Repeal Act repealed the Green Energy Act and amended other Acts to re-introduce conservation and energy efficiency initiatives, restore municipal authority over siting renewable energy projects, and create the authority to prohibit issuance of Renewable Energy Approvals, including where demand for electricity is not demonstrated.
