On April 24, 2020, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation 172/20 to permit new housing development in Markham and Whitchurch-Stouffville. We wanted to inform you of this decision even though we are not required to under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993.
We have changed the boundaries of Stoco Fen Provincial Park to add about 150 hectares of land. The new area includes three parcels of land donated by Quinte Conservation and two small parcels of unopened road allowance. Increasing the size of the park will help protect this provincially significant wetland.

We have made the proposed Reid Road Reservoir Quarry subject to a project-specific environmental assessment process under the Environmental Assessment Act to ensure continued protection of the environment.
This proposal is to amend the Environmetnal complaince Approval No. 3102-A9SNHB. Ontario Parks is intending on expanding the Presqu’ile Provincial Park with up to 42 campsites in the group camping area of the park.
We have made amendments to the assessment reports and source protection plan for the Credit Valley and the Toronto and Region Source Protection Areas, part of the CTC Source Protection Region. They update policies for dense non-aqueous phase liquids and organic solvents, and vulnerable areas near 4 drinking water systems in Peel, York, and Toronto.
The proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) for the discharge of water from a proposed aggregate wash plant for the existing gravel pit, located at 168 Bruce Road 3 in Mildmay, Ontario (License ALPS 4680). The existing gravel pit operation is located on Part Lots 20 and 21, Concession C in the Township of Carrick, Ontario.
We finalized the regulation that will make battery producers environmentally accountable and financially responsible for collecting and managing their products at end-of-life in February 2020. The regulation for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) was finalized in September 2020.
On October 25, 2007 Canada and Ontario signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) respecting the establishment of a National Marine Conservation Area in Lake Superior.

A new regulation will make tire producers environmentally and financially responsible for recovering resources and reducing waste associated with the tires they supply in Ontario. This will further reduce the amount of tires lost to disposal, benefit our environment and economy, and support our efforts to fight climate change.
We have made a decision to amend the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1997, (FWCA) and associated regulations, to allow for the issuance of licences of new dog train and trial areas through a one-time application period and to allow for the transfer of licences.

The Niagara Escarpment Planning and Development Act has been updated to remove the requirement to publish notices of proposed amendments to the Niagara Escarpment Plan and associated hearings in newspapers, enables broader exemptions for low-risk activities, and broadens the range of compliance tools for the Niagara Escarpment Commission.
We are delivering on our Made-in-Ontario Environment Plan commitment to hold polluters accountable by expanding the use of administrative monetary penalties and modernizing the process to seize vehicle permits and plates. Once implemented, these changes will strengthen our enforcement tools to ensure compliance with environmental laws.
