We are proposing regulations that would allow the use of administrative penalties (“penalties”) for environmental contraventions.
The proposed new framework, informed by recent stakeholder engagements, would provide a single consistent approach for applying penalties across the ministry’s compliance and enforcement activities.

An amended Environmental Compliance Approval has been issued to 2114568 Ontario Limited for sewage treatment works serving Lakepoint Village, an existing adult lifestyle community with year-round residential dwellings located in the Township of Ramara, Ontario.
Original Traders Energy (OTE), a supplier and distributer petroleum products, is building a new facility at 180 Industrial Park Drive, Shannonville. We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) to Algoma Steel Inc., an integrated iron and steel manufacturing facility located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
We have not made a decision on the proposal and due to recent changes at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, detailed updates to the proposal are required.
