We approved the updated Fire Management Policy for Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves. These changes will modernize and streamline fire management planning for these protected areas and enhance opportunities for the ecological benefits of fire, while continuing to protect people and property.

We have issued an Environmental Compliance Approval No. 7930-CSXJA9 to Eagles Rest Estates Inc. for the construction of on-site sewage works serving the Eagles Rest Estates residential development (Phase I and Phase II) in the Township of Oro-Medonte, Ontario.

The Minister has identified 29 provincially significant employment zones that receive enhanced protection under A Place to Grow. Based on feedback, the Ministry has corrected any technical errors to the boundaries for zones and issued revised maps to be used in the Plan’s implementation but will still consider requests to review the zones.

We have introduced legislative and regulatory changes to enable the IESO to launch a clean energy credit (CEC) registry to track the transfer and retirement of voluntarily purchased CECs generated from Ontario’s clean electricity supply. We want to inform you that the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing has received Regional Official Plan Amendment 33 (ROPA 33) from Peel Region for a decision. ROPA 33 proposes to expand the City of Mississauga's settlement area boundary within the Peel Region Official Plan by approximately 350 hectares.
