We are proposing to make regulatory changes to improve implementation of the Endangered Species Act, 2007. These changes will help us continue to deliver a species at risk program that is effective and focuses protections where they are needed most.
The Mining Act was amended to enable regulations to establish a “permit by rule” model, allowing claim holders to sell the end product of a bulk sample and retain proceeds, provided that certain conditions are met. There are no anticipated environmental impacts associated with this decision.
The Associate Minister of Small Business and Red Tape Reduction (SBRTR) has introduced the Bill 13, the Supporting People and Businesses Act, 2021 which is designed to reduce burden on individuals and businesses. Measures will aid in weathering the impacts of COVID-19 and help build a more efficient Ontario for people and businesses.
