To further reduce regulatory burden for the waterpower sector while maintaining environmental protection, we have removed existing Permits to Take Water for waterpower facilities. This action follows amendments to the Ontario Water Resources Act in December 2019 that removed the need for these facilities to have a Permit to Take Water.
The Deep River Marina's request to be allowed to keep a gasoline dispenser in its current location, 3 metres from the door of the building, has been approved.
Mac's request to replace several tank and dispenser sump entry boots (fittings that connect piping to a containment system) with retrofit boots made by Icon Products, has been approved.
The applicant was able to verify that on April 15th, 2019, Parkland completed a pump out underground tanks. Therefore, since the tanks have been out of service for less than 2 years, a variance is not required to bring them back into service.
