The amendment proposes changes to the site including, relocation of two ventilation raises and the expansion of the Closure Plan boundary, to include more area but with the mining leases LEA-109592, LEA-109602, LEA-109605, LEA-109593.

Changes were made through Bill 185, the Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024, to enhance regulation-making authority and allow the Minister to remove and override municipal zoning by-law provisions that limit the development of additional residential units (ARUs).
Ontario is ending the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Program (WEEE), which helped recycled electronics like televisions, computers and phones. The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulation (EEE) is now in place for managing waste electronics in Ontario. All steps for winding up the old program have been implemented.
