This decision is to amend Permit to Take Water No. 6551-8U3H95 for mining purposes. Water will be taken from nine lakes and nine wells, located in the Township of Dubreuilville, District of Algoma, Ontario. This amendment is for the modification of water taking sources.
The Ministry of Mines is proposing to rehabilitate the mine hazards at the abandoned Gould Copper Mine. Project planning is being carried out in accordance with the Class Environmental Assessment for Activities of the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines under the Mining Act (Class Environmental Assessment).
We are seeking comments on the proposal to prescribe Section 13: Prevention and Response Plans under the Invasive Species Act, 2015 as instruments under the Environmental Bill of Rights, 1993. In doing so, all future prevention and response plans will be required to be posted on the Environmental Registry of Ontario for public review.
