The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing is consulting on two provincially initiated proposed amendments to the Parkway Belt West Plan and the Plan’s associated Minister’s Zoning Order, filed as Ontario Regulation 482/73, for lands municipally known as 2084, 2344, 2460 and 2482 Dundas Street in the City of Burlington, Halton Region.
We have changed the boundaries of Stoco Fen Provincial Park to add about 150 hectares of land. The new area includes three parcels of land donated by Quinte Conservation and two small parcels of unopened road allowance. Increasing the size of the park will help protect this provincially significant wetland.

We issued a new Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) to Scotland Agromart Ltd., a fertilizer mixing manufacturing facility located in Brant County, Ontario.
We have issued an amended Environmental Compliance Approval No. A270504 to 792485 Ontario Limited to allow for the mining and removal of existing material from the landfill area in order to facilitate future development of the site.
We are seeking comments on a proposal to amend O. Reg. 73/94 to exempt five Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act (LRIA) orders that are prescribed proposals for instruments, from the requirements of Part II of the Environmental Bill of Rights (EBR) except the requirement to post a decision notice.
The ministry completed a review of bulk sample thresholds in order to ensure the thresholds met the balance of a competitive mining sector with environmental protection and sustainability. Changes to the bulk sample thresholds are not required.
The Resource Management and Safety Act, 2025, received Royal Assent on December 3, 2025. Effective January 1, 2026, the Forest Fires Prevention Act becomes the Wildland Fire Management Act, with changes to address growing wildland fire risks and modernize the wildland fire management program.
