The Minister has issued a permit under the Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA) to the Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. for pipeline construction activities that may adversely impact Caribou (boreal population). The permit includes actions to minimize adverse effects, actions to benefit the species, and monitoring and reporting requirements.

The Ministry received feedback on proposed updates to the Projection Methodology Guideline (PMG) to support implementation of the Provincial Planning Statement (PPS), 2024 policies related to growth forecasts and land needs. A new regulation has been made under the Environmental Assessment Act (EAA) that sets out requirements Hydro One Networks Inc. (Hydro One) will need to undertake to proceed with the Northeast Power Line Project (Project) and for the EAA not to apply to the Project. Hydro One is collaborating with a consortium of First Nations partners.

We have made a decision on an application for four proposed models to calculate the lifecycle GHG intensity of new bio-based content under the Cleaner Transportation Fuels Regulation. This posting serves as approval under s.7(1)(b) of the regulation. We are also providing notice of updates to the Technical Guideline pursuant to s. 177(6).

The variance is approved

A decision was made on April 11, 2023, to approve, with modifications, Official Plan Amendment 119 to the County of Wellington Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 5760-22. Official Plan Amendment 119 is Phase 1 of the County's municipal comprehensive review.

A decision was made on March 4, 2020 to approve, with modifications, Official Plan Amendment 13 to the Region of Niagara's Official Plan, as adopted by By-law 2019-77. Notice of this decision was issued on March 4, 2020.

Application for Consent, 60-C-222103 to re-establish a rural agricultural parcel was granted provisional approval on June 14, 2023. The last day to appeal this decision is July 4, 2023.

Certificate of Property Use No. 8575-CVDNVA was issued on March 6, 2024, to ABNA Investments Ltd.. for 9 North Street, Kingston. The CPU will ensure the safe development of the property for commercial/industrial use should it be developed in the future.
