We have amended regulations made under the Environmental Protection Act and the Environmental Assessment Act to streamline permissions for combined heat and power (CHP) systems or power only systems. MTO is replacing the current Motor Vehicle Inspection Station (MVIS) program with a contractual model. The program is transitioning to a multi-year contract between the ministry and service stations/garages offering Emission Inspection, Safety Standard, Periodic Mandatory Commercial Vehicle Inspection (PMCVI) and Structural Inspection Certificates.

Pursuant to Section 53 of the Planning Act, provisional consent was granted on April 29, 2026, in respect of Application 60-C-251735 for a lot addition in the unincorporated community of Minaki, District of Kenora. The last day this decision can be appealed is May 19, 2026.
