We have updated a regulation under the Clean Water Act to better protect drinking water sources to safeguard new and expanding municipal drinking water supplies, improve how source protection plans are kept up to date and update the list of drinking water threats.
The Endangered Species Act, 2007 was amended as part of the More Homes, More Choice Act, 2019 to better enable positive outcomes for species at risk while streamlining processes.
On August 19, 2022, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation 470/22.

We decided to revoke O. Reg. 274/18 – Siting Restrictions for Renewable Energy Generation Facilities. Since municipal authority over the siting of new renewable energy projects has been restored, this regulation no longer applies to any projects.
On May 12, 2023, the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing filed a Zoning Order, made pursuant to clause 47(1)(a) of the Planning Act, with the Registrar of Regulations as Ontario Regulation (O. Reg) 92/23.

The 2018 Closure Plan Amendment for the Williams Mine was filed by the Director of Mine Rehabilitation with changes addressed in the Closure Plan Amendment Update dated January 31, 2019 to address government technical reviews.
MNRF is proposing regulatory changes to Ontario Regulation 244/97 under the Aggregate Resources Act to expand the list of changes that can be made to site plans without ministry approval (subject to conditions) and proposing a policy that would provide direction for changes to licences, permits and site plans where ministry approval is required.

The Ministry is considering issuing a Director’s Order to Algoma Ferrous Industries Inc., under Subsection 147(1) of the Mining Act, to file a closure plan to rehabilitate mine hazards at the MacLeod Mine site. The result would be the receipt of a closure plan for the rehabilitation of mine hazards, including associated financial assurance.

We made a boundary amendment to Mellon Lake Conservation Reserve, by way of an amendment to Ontario Regulation 315/07 under the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006.
