I strongly oppose Bill 5, which endangers Ontario’s environment, democracy, and Indigenous rights. The bill grants unchecked power to Cabinet to override laws through “Special Economic Zones” and guts protections for endangered species by weakening habitat safeguards and eliminating science-based recovery planning. It also exempts destructive projects like the Eagle’s Nest mine from environmental review. These changes prioritize short-term corporate interests over long-term ecological health, public accountability, and truth in reconciliation. Ontario needs real economic solutions that respect the rule of law and protect nature — not this reckless rollback. I urge you to withdraw Bill 5 immediately.
